| This paper evaluates the performance of a corrosion inhibitor against the localized corrosion phenomena observed in the internal side of containers made of 316-L stainless steel carrying chlorinated hazardous waste. Cyclic polarization curves were used to assess the tendency to pitting corrosion in the various metal-solution systems such as liquid phase, organic phase and both solutions with inhibitor. The electrochemical tests and morphological results on electrode surface indicate no susceptibility to pitting corrosion when the proposed inhibitor was used. | |
