Abstract The present paper has as aim studying the effect of the electromagnetic shielding effectivenss in materials used in aircraft and spacecraft materials. Empirical Simon formula and Cowdell model are used to simulate the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness. Metals such a copper, aluminum, nickel and iron, as well as composite materials based o carbon nanotubes and polymers are evaluated for structural and flexible applications, respectively. This study will allow to designers of aircraft and spacecraft materials choosing the best material to realize electromagnetic shielding in both technological areas, wich are subjeted to refection, adsorption, and bachscattering of electromagnetic waves generated from outdoor and indoor environments. | |
